SAINT-GOBAIN GYPSUM TROPHY

 Saint-Gobain Gypsum organizes a competition for projects using Gyproc products and accessories.The Trophy is awarded to contractors who have best utilized Gyproc products and solutions to achieve higher performance or optimized project overall installation cost and time.

In 2016, the Tenth International Trophy was celebrated in Prague, Czech Republic. Contractors nominated by Gyproc Egypt joined contractors from more than 35 countries to compete among 89 projects in 6 different categories. Correspondingly, Saint-Gobain Gyproc Egypt is announcing the opening of the Second National Trophy for 2017 for any contractor using Saint-Gobain Gyproc products. The National Trophy competition is initially conducted on the national level, and the winners have the opportunity to be nominated to compete in the upcoming Eleventh International Trophy in Lisbon, March 2018.

Category 1: Plasterboard

Projects in this category must be interior spaces and environments within a new building, or the
refurbishment of an existing building. The type of buildings within this category may be freely chosen.
They can vary from interiors for single small buildings to very large complex projects not necessarily
offering specific performances relevant to any sector.
Recognition is given to the technical application of plasterboard solutions in the interiors of these
buildings and where plasterboard has been used in place of traditional materials.They may comprise
walls, ceilings and floors.

Category 2: Plaster

The category plaster comprises all projects where Gypsum plaster products and systems are applied
resulting in unique interiors, exteriors and highest quality surface finishing (even under the toughest
lighting conditions). From traditional handwork to machine applied projection and plasterboard
finishing, all outstanding plastering interior solutions may be submitted under this category.
Special attention will be given to the use of plaster in replacement of other materials used traditionally.

Category 3: Innovation & Sustainability

This category recognises projects offering innovative solutions, like the treatment of indoor air, or using plaster-based solutions in an unusual way. Recognition is also given to technical ways to reduce installation time and increase ease of installation and, in general, the search for a better productivity to the benefit of the quality of the result. Extra credits will be granted for the use of BIM technology.

Category 4: Residential

Projects in this category must be interior spaces and environments within a new building, or the refurbishment of an existing building in the Residential sector. They can vary in size from small to very large projects but they must uniquely display the use of performance based systems or aesthetic enhancements relevant to the sector. The application of plasterboard solutions in the interiors of these buildings may  comprise walls, ceilings and floors.

Category 5: Non-residential

Projects in this category must be interior spaces and environments within a new building, or the refurbishment of any of the sectors of office, retail leisure, education (i.e. school), healthcare (i.e. hospital) and hospitality (i.e. hotel). They can vary in size from small to very large projects but they must uniquely display the use of performance based systems relevant to the sector. The application of plasterboard solutions in the interiors of these buildings may comprise walls, ceilings and floors.

Category 6 - Ceilings

Projects in this category must be space of a new building or refurbishment of an existing building, where Saint-Gobain Gypsum Ceilings have been used. The type of segment within this category maybe freely chosen. Other Saint-Gobain ceilings such as mineral wool (e.g. Ecophon or Eurocoustic) or metal ceilings (e.g. Plafometal) in the projects will make additional points of recognition. The projects featured in this category should be focused on ceilings, as key fundamental features (e.g. aesthetic, durability, acoustic, indoor air quality & sustainability). The application of the ceilings solutions in the interior of the buildings may also comprise of wall linings with ceiling products.
